With very little connection to reality, disgraced former school trustee has gone from being a bigoted curmudgeon to a narcissistic, self-described David versus Goliath

Disgraced Chilliwack school board trustee Barry Neufeld does indeed have supporters and a following. But there are so very few of them and they are so dispersed and are universally clueless.

He lost a defamation lawsuit he filed against the former BCTF president that went all the way to Supreme Court of Canada.

He lost a defamation lawsuit filed against him by a former school trustee that went all the way to the BC Court of Appeal.

He is currently amid a B.C. Human Rights Tribunal hearing where the BCTF has accused him of hate speech, and he doesn't know when to stop. He doesn't know what he doesn't know and it has all become very sad.

He owes massive amounts of money in decisions and lawyer fees all of which are his own fault. He could have stopped when it was explained to him that he was being bigoted and not Christian at all but he doesn't get it.

I don't know everything, but pointing out Neufeld's mistakes and ignorance and bigotry and logical fallacies could be a board game. I'm working on it. In the meantime, here is my marked-up version of his newsletter sent out to his followers on March 20, 2025, where he begs for money to continue his homophobic David versus government Goliath fight.

In between his "Coalition of Concerned Canadians" letterhead atop page one and a link to his "Rights and Freedoms" money-grubbing website at the bottom of page five, Neufeld rambles on narcissistically and nonsensically making several errors in fact and logic all while missing the point.

He also includes two photos for some mind-boggling reason: a naked image of the school trustee who sued him for defamation while repeating the defamation; and a photo of a Ku Klux Klan outfit to make it clear that he doesn't have anything to do with the Ku Klux Klan and he can't believe people are asking him about the Ku Klux Klan.

If he didn't exist, you couldn't make Barry Neufeld up.

I tried to fact-check the newsletter as a fun experiment and almost gave up (should have) it was so challenging. From ironically complaining about how long the human rights hearing has gone on*, to repeating his defamations**, to errors understanding the law***, to being conclusory and fallacious when recounting proceeding at the tribunal****, to his vanity*****, and even claiming I made up a news story about the KKK flyer that was dropped on people's lawns two months after his now infamous anti-LGBTQ Facebook rant in 2017******.

*It has been explained to Neufeld that the main reason for almost all of the delays are because of his own actions.
**Again mentioned "striptease artist" while saying trustee Carin Bondar's science videos are "crude, rude, lewd and vulgar."
***Too many to list.
****He claims BCTF lawyers 'hacked' into his private legal files when confronted with disclosure he didn't like.
*****The Supreme Court of Canada ruled against him so he concluded that "ALL the judiciary had received instruction, probably from the Prime Minister’s office that Barry Neufeld was a 'domestic terrorist' and they must destroy me at all costs."
******I didn't make it up. Even the late great Dan Coulter, one of Neufeld's most honest critics received the flyer on his lawn. No, he wasn't in on "it."

Feel free to download a PDF of my marked-up version of his newsletter below. It's a fun read.
